Bobby Brazendale

Senior Planning Engineer

Profile

Bobby is a Senior Planner an Incorporated Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He has 18 years’ construction industry experience in both Consultancy and Tier 1 Principal Contractor environments.

Bobby started his career in an engineering capacity progressing to Senior Site Engineer, where he developed an interest in project planning and optimisation. He has been working as a Senior Planning Engineer for the last 10 years. Bobby has a specialist knowledge of the New Engineering Contract (NEC3) Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) having worked solely with these contract conditions for his entire career. Bobby has worked as a lead planner on projects ranging from £5m to £1bn and his sector experience includes rail, power transmission, highways, utilities and nuclear. He has constructed tender programmes in their entirety based on client Works Information, and managed large programmes throughout the delivery phase. He has an expert knowledge of Primavera P6.

Bobby is a competent Earned Value practitioner having monitored the metrics throughout his engineering and his planning career. His appreciation of technical engineering, construction practicalities and various permit requirements mean that he can efficiently programme works. Crucially, he can offer practical engineering solutions when Cost Performance or Schedule Performance Indexes are signalling project inefficiencies. His NEC ECC background means that he can advise on the best use of time-risk allowance, project float and terminal float reducing project delays and increasing cost efficiency. Similarly, his understanding of project risks and NEC philosophy of early identification through the early warning mechanism, means that programme risks are often mitigated in their entirety.

A well-rounded construction professional, Bobby has a Degree in Civil Engineering, is certified as an advanced Primavera P6 user and holds various other industry authorisations.
