Profile

Cameron is a Senior Quantity Surveyor, with 8 years’ experience in the construction industry having represented client organisations throughout his career.

Prior to joining Rowfield he spent his entire professional career working for Turner and Townsend, where he progressed from Assistant Quantity Surveyor to Quantity Surveyor through the Turner and Townsend Graduate Programme. During Cameron’s time at Turner and Townsend he has been seconded into Network Rail, Severn Trent Water, the Environment Agency and Highways England where he has provided both pre- and post-contract commercial services.

Cameron began his career at the Environment Agency where he was seconded to a flood alleviation delivery team and was allocated duties in cost validation and forecasting, programme management, risk and BIM. He also drafted NEC ECC 3 & 4 and NEC PSC contracts and coordinated stakeholder approvals. In this role he also became proficient in creating and varying BIM workspaces. He then joined Highways England to support the £3.6Bn Package 5 and Scheme Delivery Framework providing precontract Quantity Surveying services and tender appraisal. During this role Cameron undertook commercial assessment of tenders by evaluating Financial Submission Workbooks for Landscaping and Ecology Works nationwide. Ensuring compliance with Tender Instructions, identifying errors and communicating findings to both the assessment board and tenderers. In this role he utilised Power Bi to interpret and analyse tender data, identifying and addressing errors or sustainability concerns to ensure fairness in the tendering process.

Later Cameron joined Severn Trent’s Water Treatment North team. This involved managing a workbook of projects ranging from £1m to £3m at both pre- and post-contract stages using the NEC ECC (Options A, C & E) conditions of contract. Once projects entered the post-contract phase, he was responsible for verifying cost, forecasting cost, managing change, producing CVR reports, assessing payments and commercial close out documentation.

Prior to joining Rowfield, Cameron’s most recent experience was working as a Commercial Manager seconded into Network Rail’s Wales and Western Capital Delivery Team. In this role he provided commercial management on building, civils and enhancement projects along the Great Western Mainline Route let on ICC and NEC4 ECC contracts. His responsibilities included negotiating with Contractors on pricing, claims and variations to maximise project value as well as avoiding delays to the programme. Reporting to the Senior Programme and Senior Commercial Manager, he led a small team of two commercial assistants in delivering all commercial duties relating to the workbook. Projects ranged from £2m to £8m in value.

Cameron is skilled in maximizing productivity and generating value for clients and stakeholders. He possesses strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Academically, Cameron holds a First-Class Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management. He is part way through the RICS APC programme and expects be Chartered in 2025.
