Oliver is an experienced Senior Project Manager who has extensive experience in both High Voltage (HV) operation and the management of major HV Demand and Generation Projects. He is a Member of the Association of Project Managers and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Oliver has over 12 years’ experience at both UK Electrical Distribution & Transmission levels, ranging from electrical fitout to replacement of major HV assets. He began working life with the prestigious technical apprenticeship scheme with Rolls-Royce Marine Electrical Systems. He later held positions at both National Grid Electricity Transmission and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, providing critical emergency response to transmission sites within the City of London. Oliver has knowledge and experience switching live HV substation assets under the control of the ENCC and working with a diverse range of electrical transmission equipment at voltages between 132kV to 400kV.
Oliver has been a Senior Project Manager on several Electrical Generation and Asset Replacement Schemes, ensuring delivery of the Scope safely and within budget, programme and quality constraints. He has a strong appreciation of the importance of effective programme management to ensure obligations are executed as agreed clients, customers and stakeholders. He is comfortable managing the typical interfaces associated with Electricity Transmission projects such as Subcontractor construction teams, Cable Jointers, SAP’s, Craftspersons, etc, ensuring strict adherence to the relevant codes of practice confirming full CDM compliance.
He is a well-rounded Senior Project Manager and commercially astute, and particularly skilled in the monitoring of programme commercial performance, contract administration, negotiation and dispute avoidance. He is highly conversant with the NEC ECC’s contract procedures.
Oliver has keen aptitude for self-development and has supplemented his project management skills with a degree in Business Management and Economics, and a Master’s Degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution.
