Lee Jones

Profile

Lee is a dynamic and accomplished Senior Project Manager with over 25 years in the electricity transmission and distribution industry, and 18 years of experience in delivering complex utility and electrical infrastructure projects across the UK up to 132kV. He specialises in large scale Extra High-Voltage Networks, multi-utility installations, Data Centres, Battery Energy Storage and renewable energy projects.

Throughout Lee’s career, he has led diverse projects ranging from high-voltage asset replacements to renewable energy developments, securing significant investments and delivering innovative solutions. His ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage risks, and maintain financial control has consistently ensured the successful execution of projects on time and within budget. He places a strong emphasis on stakeholder management, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Lee spent 17 years at SSE where he achieved several promotions during this time. He first gained 132kV Substation Access during SAP training with SSE Networks in 2005. He started as a Team Manager, and his final role was National Contracts Manager where he developed and implemented a new National Contracts Division across the UK managing all aspects of electrical asset installation and maintenance projects to 132kV asset replacements.

Prior to becoming a Project Manager, Lee was a former serviceman with the Royal Engineers. He believes that this enables him to bring a disciplined and strategic approach to Project Management, leveraging military-honed leadership and problem-solving skills. He is highly adaptable, self-motivated, and skilled at fostering collaboration among stakeholders. With a strong focus on innovation and operational excellence, I am committed to driving sustainable and efficient project outcomes that align with organisational goals.
