Peter Adeleye

Profile

Peter is a Chartered Quantity Senior and Chartered Construction Manager and holds the position of Commercial Manager at Rowfield Commercial. He has 15 years’ experience in the UK construction industry and has represented both client and main contracting organisations.

Peter’s sector experience is predominantly infrastructure/civils based where he has worked on large rail and highways projects using the NEC ECC suite of contracts (Options A, B, C & E). Peter has held the position of Cost and Risk Manager where he led on the implementation of commercial procedures for management of a £350m Network Rail Project, to upgrade existing Network Rail infrastructure for new Crossrail trains. He has developed and implemented new strategy and process in organisations to improve project commercial performance.

He has held the position of Managing Quantity Surveyor on many projects in the £50m value range where he had been responsible for leading teams of 3 to 4 Quantity Surveyors and assistant Quantity Surveyors. In this capacity he has been ultimately responsible for the project’s commercial performance, contractual adherence, forecasting, performance against budget, control change control, risk management and the mentoring and development of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.

Peter gained main contractor experience at Volker Rail Ltd and Costain, where the latter of which he spent 9 years over 2 tenures. In this period of his career, he managed rail projects again let on NEC ECC terms, some of which include HS2 Enabling Works Contract, Crossrail C360 Eleanor Street & Mile End Shafts, Crossrail C295 TWUL Asset Management & Highways Reinstatement and Network Rail and Farringdon Station, Central London.

Whilst most of his professional experience has been utilising NEC contracts, Peter has also worked with the JCT standard form. He has an all-round understanding of the principles of contract practice and has applied these skills in escalation and dispute avoidance meetings to positive effect.

Academically, Peter holds a First-Class Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management from the University of Westminster.
