Sam Evans

Profile

Sam is an Director and Senior Programme Manager with extensive experience in leading asset investment programmes and business operations in the energy, utilities and transport industries.

Sam specialises in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry, where he has over 15 years’ experience in delivering large programmes of capital infrastructure within specific time, budget and regulatory constraints. He takes pride in his work and optimal programme performance and has established a strong record of delivering workbooks in excess of £200m, with responsibility for pre-contract and post-contract stages of the project cycle. Sam is commercially astute and skilled in the monitoring of programme, commercial performance, contract administration, negotiation and dispute avoidance.  He is highly conversant with the NEC ECC’s contemporaneous approach to risk management and contract procedures, and the associated benefits to project delivery.

Prior to joining Rowfield, Sam held senior positions at both National Grid and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks where he oversaw major asset upgrades, by managing multi-faceted teams, contractors and equipment manufacturers with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement. He has an acute ability to identify project risks early, derive solutions and communicate mitigations clearly. Sam is a dedicated and conscientious manager with a clear focus on delivering value by building motivated and committed teams. Sam has an enthusiasm for the professional development of his team and takes an active role as a mentor. Whether that be by identifying areas for development, facilitating exposure to specific experiences or supporting staff’s aspirations in pursuing additional qualifications.

Sam is an NEC4 Accredited Project Manager and Member of the Association of Project Managers.
