Steve is a Commercial Manager with over 25 years’ experience within the construction industry.
His comprehensive experience spans Civil Engineering, Power, Water, Rail, Highways, Waterways, Flood Defence and Coastal. A highly proficient Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor with skills in contract administration, valuations, final accounts, variations, cost management, subcontract management, staff management, cost forecasting in both Frameworks and standalone contracts in NEC based contracts, with experience of IChemE, ICE and FIDIC forms.
Steve is an approachable, efficient, and hard-working commercial professional. His sector experience includes Civil Engineering, Power, Water, Rail, Highways, Waterways, Flood Defence and Coastal. Steve has spent recent years in collaborative contracting environments and specialises in the New Engineering Contract (NEC3/4) Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC). He has managed large EPC procurement programmes in excess of £250m, where he was ultimately responsible for ITT issuance, Works Information compilation, tender adjudication, scoring and weighting, risk allocation, negotiation and award.
Steve has also been appointed as Contract Administrator on individual projects up to £250m and most recently workbooks up to £350m. In this capacity he has been ultimately responsible for the project’s commercial performance, contractual adherence, forecasting, performance against budget, control change control, risk management, asset capitalisation and the mentoring and development of Quantity Surveyors and Junior Quantity Surveyors.
Academically, Steve holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying from Leeds Metropolitan University.
