Profile

Ray is a experienced and motivated commercial professional with 15 years’ experience in the construction industry.

His sector experience includes power transmission, gas transmission, utilities and heavy civils.  Ray has spent 12 years in collaborative contracting environments and specialises in the New Engineering Contract (NEC3/4) Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC). Having spent the first part of his career in contractor organisations, Ray has worked client-side for the last 5 years in the electricity transmission industry.

He has managed large EPC procurement programmes in excess of £150m, where he was ultimately responsible for ITT issuance, Works Information compilation, tender adjudication, scoring and weighting, risk allocation, negotiation and award.

Ray has also been appointed as Contract Administrator on individual projects up to £50m and most recently workbooks up to £150m. In this capacity he has been ultimately responsible for the project’s commercial performance, contractual adherence, forecasting, performance against budget, control change control, risk management and the mentoring of junior staff. Ray has an expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and has been responsible for designing project level Cost Value Reports that were implemented into AMEC on a national basis. Similarly, he has also designed the corresponding management reports that aggregate and clearly represent the project level data.

Academically, Ray has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
